Former NBA guard Darius Morris, who starred at Michigan before being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2011, has died at the age of 33, the Lakers announced Monday.

Morris, a 6-foot-4 point guard, played in 132 career games with the Lakers, averaging 33 points and 44 assists. He also played for the Clippers, Grizzlies, Nets and 76ers.

The cause of Morris' death has not been released.

Morris was a standout at Michigan, where he was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2010. He was drafted by the Lakers with the 51st overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft.

Morris played four seasons in the NBA, averaging 3.2 points and 1.9 assists per game. He last played in the NBA for the 76ers in 2014.
